Leroy Sane (French pronunciation: [lə.ʁwa sa.ne], German pronunciation: [ˈliːʁɔʏ̯ zaˈneː]; born 11 January 1996) is a German professional footballer who plays as a winger for Premier League club Manchester City and the Germany national team. On 2 August 2016, Sané joined Manchester City, signing a five-year deal for a reported £37 million, with performance-related add-ons potentially making the fee £46.5 million.He made his debut in a 1–2 win, in the Manchester derby, on 10 September. His first goal for City came in a 2–1 win against Arsenal at home in the Premier League. Following a spell out injured, Sané returned against Tottenham and scored in a 2–2 draw at the Etihad. In the following match, he scored for the third consecutive game as City won 3–0 away at Crystal Palace in the FA Cup.
On 13 April 2017, Sané was named as one of six players shortlisted for the PFA Young Player of the Year award.[12]
On 9 September 2017, Sané scored his first two goals of the 2017–18 season in Manchester City’s 5–0 defeat of Liverpool at the City of Manchester Stadium. He scored his third goal of the season against Crystal Palace in their second 5–0 victory of the season.
